Billy King made a call inquiring about Artest. Unfortunately it is tough to figure how the Sixers could make that deal. The Peja and Al Harrington rumors make more sense. Philly's got to be behind them in the sweepstakes. Fortunately for everyone, Isaiah Thomas has not inquired about Artest, though he is shopping Q-Rich and a deal involving him for Artest makes both money and talent sense.
I, for one, would like to see Artest in a 76er uni.

They (Knicks) did but it is still not looking good. I would be more than happy to see a package of Korver and Steve Hunter go. But that would mean the Sixers need to get size from somehwere. If I were the Pacers, I would request Iguo. He's a tougher move though because he makes less than Korver. Maybe they would ask for both he and Korver (I am not sure if that money matches though.) However ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan had a better idea:
Willie Green could be sent to Indiana in a sign-and-trade deal if the Pacers want to take a chance on his surgically repaired knee, and the Sixers could combine his salary with that of Kyle Korver ($3.63 million), who would be expendable if Artest came aboard.
Plausibility rating (Green/Korver): 4 (very likely)
TO Sheridan, this deal is as likely as a Peja, Tim Thomas, Mo Pete, or Toine Walker deal and more likely than a Harrington, KVH, Stackhouse, Jamal Crwaford, or Q-Rich deal.
I would be happy if they Sixers gave up anything short of Bert and Oy. I would not be thrilled about giving up AI, Jr. but he is only Artest-lite so to get Artest back would be an upgrade. Imagine this club with AI, AI 2, Artest, Webber and Bert. They could compete for the conference 'chip.
Latest Artest rumor:
"Artest Could Be Toronto Bound
Dec 15 - According to the Toronto Sun, a rumor making the rounds last night had the Pacers badboy and second-round pick Erazem Lorbek going to the Raptors for Morris Peterson, another roster player (potentially Matt Bonner) and a first-round pick.
More gossip ...
The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the Lakers and coach Phil Jackson, in particular have strong interest in acquiring Ron Artest, a source close to the team said Wednesday. But the Lakers are not willing to part with Lamar Odom in a trade package and are uncertain whether they even will be among the league's leading contenders to land Artest.
Jermaine O'Neal told the Boston Globe he has two people in mind who would be more than suitable replacements for Artest: former teammate Al Harrington, now with Atlanta, and Bonzi Wells, now with Sacramento. Harrington would be a natural, O'Neal surmised, because of his familiarity with the system and the team. As for Wells, O'Neal said, "He fits in with what we do. We have a defensive-oriented team. He's a 6-6, 6-7 body who can play two different positions and thinks defense first."
Isiah Thomas said he finally placed a formal call yesterday to Pacers honcho Donnie Walsh to express his interest in Ron Artest, but admitted he's not going all out to get him, reports the New York Post. Thomas made it clear he's not offering Channing Frye, Nate Robinson, David Lee or Trevor Ariza. "I wouldn't part with any of them," Thomas said. "I like where we're headed." Walsh said he's received calls from close to 20 teams.
Two Eastern Conference officials briefed on the matter said the Knicks were not in the running for Artest, according to the New York Times. Although the Knicks admire Artest's talent, they are wary of his checkered past.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports, one player that the Hornets will not pursue is Ron Artest. "I've always thought I could coach anybody, but I don't know about Ron," Byron Scott said."
Shit, the Sixers could offer a better package than Mo Pete, Erazem Lorbek, Matt Bonner and a 1st Rd pick. I think Korver's better than Mo Pete and Willie Green could be better than all of them. If the Sixers tossed in their 1st, maybe that would 'sweeten the pot.' Then again, Toronto will be in the lottery and could win the 'Rudy Gay Sweapstakes.' And I have no f'ing clue who Erazem Lorbek is.
Haha. They never run out.
The Test Offensive is under contract for another 3 years minimum.
But accroding to Bill King it is moot. He has no interest in Standardized Tests.
